My website design process

If you need a website and are wondering how to make it all happen, you're in the right place! I've put together a simple timeline so that you know what to expect and how much work will be required on your part. Yes, you heard that right, you'll have do some work too! I can build your website and give you advice but I will need your input at most stages of the process.

First of all you probably want to know how much it costs. I will ask you a few questions (we can have a chat or I can send you a questionnaire) so I can find out what your needs are and I will then send you a quote. I can certainly give you a quick idea of how much a website costs right away, but until I ask you those questions, I can't give you an exact answer. For example an ecommerce website would be more expensive than a simple blog.

If you're happy with the quote you need to pay a deposit. At this stage we can have a chat about the best look and layout for your website. We are going to look at your goals, your main messages, your target audience and your competition.

Before I can start working on the website I will need you to send me the content, both copy and images, for all the pages, including your domain and current website information (if you already have one).

Finally, this is where the fun begins! Building the website usually takes 2-3 weeks. You will get access to your draft website as soon as it's ready so you can give me your feedback.

Up to 2 rounds of amendments are included in my quotes.

Once the website is approved it will go live and the final payment will be required.

If you need any regular updates or maintenance we can talk about how much this will cost. Alternatively you may want to get trained on how to do it yourself.

I hope you found this useful, but please feel free to get in touch if you have any other questions on my web design process.
